Welcome to Class 13!
Croeso i Dosbarth 13!
Thank you for visiting Class 13's web page! Here you'll find some information about our class. Mr Green
Our spring 2 topic is 'Europe'. We will be learning about lots of different countries and cultures in Europe. There will be a lot of literacy and numeracy links covered through the topic along with all the other subject areas. The children will also be working on an independent research project on a country of their choice within Europe. This will be done on their Hwb accounts so they will be able to show you at home.
If you have visited Europe then it would be great to hear about your experiences. also, if you have any books at home, or visit a library, then it would be great to share them. Bring them in and share them with the class. We promise to take very good care of items brought in.
Our Welsh topic this term is 'Trefnu Gweithgareddau' (arranging activities).
We will be using language patterns such as:
Beth wyt ti eisiau wneud?
Wyt ti eisiau mynd i'r sinema?
Ble rwyt ti'n mynd?
Beth hoffet ti wneud?
Why not test your child's skills by asking them to teach you too?
Snack is £1 per week in the juniors. For that your child will receive a healthy snack every day.
P.E. is on Wednesday. Please ensure your child has PE kit in school so they are able to participate safely.
Correct PE kit includes - plain white/blue top and plain grey/black/blue bottoms with trainers.
When your child brings in the correct kit we will give them a kit bag that can stay in school for the half term.
We will give out homework on a Friday and it needs to be returned by Wednesday. This will include spellings, a literacy or numeracy task and sometimes a topic related research task.
We would be very grateful if you could work with the children on their homework tasks. Your support at home is a big help to us and makes a huge difference to their attitude to learning!
In Class 13 we go guided group reading every morning. During this time, the children that aren't reading with a teacher enjoy silent reading with a book of their choice. Also, please bring book bags every day! We try to read as often as possible so by making sure book bags are in school, your child won't miss any opportunities to read.
