Class 13

Welcome to Class 13!

Croeso i Dosbarth 13!

Croeso

Thank you for visiting Class 13's web page! Here you'll find some information about our class.

Class teacher - Mr Green

PPA teacher - Mrs Nell

Topic

Our autumn 1 topic is 'World War 2'. We will be learning about all aspects of the war and using lots of skills across the curriculum. If you have any books or artefacts at home, we would love to have a look!

Welsh

Welsh is becoming more and more important in our curriculum. We encourage our children to use it as often as possible, not just in our Welsh lessons. We do Helpiwr Heddiw sessions daily, which allows the children to practice previous patterns and play games. Ask your child to show you how to play some of them at home.

Our Welsh topic this term is 'Gwyliau' (holidays). You can use the language mat below to practice using the language.

Snack

Snack is £1 per week in the juniors. For that your child will receive a healthy snack every day.

P.E.

P.E. is on Wednesday. Please ensure your child has PE kit in school so they are able to participate safely.

Correct PE kit includes - plain white/blue top and plain grey/black/blue bottoms with trainers.

When your child brings in the correct kit we will give them a kit bag that can stay in school for the half term.

Homework
At the start of each half term your child will be given a selection of activities based the terms topic. Each week, they choose one of the activities to do as homework. This can be done online or by hand. Online homework can be sent to me on GreenD13@hwbcymru.net

Reading

In Class 13 we read as often as possible so please bring book bags every day. We read guided group reading books and individual reading books on rotation, so children have lots of opportunities to read and respond to a range of texts independently and with their peers. During this time, the children that aren't reading with a teacher enjoy silent reading with a book of their choice.
